Visakhapatnam: A rail fracture was observed by the patrolmen between Padua and Bheja in KK line where head piece of 120 mm was chipped off. AS Raghunatha Reddy and G Satish, who were on duty for night patrolling, detected the fracture around 02.50 hours on January 30 and immediately intimated to the adjacent stations.

Both of them protected the track and alerted the crew of 08512 Visakhapatnam-Kirandul special express which was about to pass from that section, which averted mishap. Later, it was attended by JE (P Way) Bheja, senior section engineer (P Way), Padua with staff and tools. The rail was replaced and train services were resumed in the early hours of the same day.

In recognition of outstanding job and devotion to duty in protecting the track to avert mishap, Divisional Railway Manager Mukul Saran Mathur felicitated both the patrolmen and rewarded with cash award here on Friday.

Visakhapatnam-Kirandul Passenger will run up to Jagdalpur Train No 58501 Visakhapatnam-Kirandul passenger leaving Visakhapatnam on February 9 and 10 will be short terminated at Jagdalpur and 58502 Kirandul-Visakhapatnam passenger will short originate from Jagdalpur on February 10 and 11 instead of Kirandul for security reasons.
