On the second day of Mahasivaratri Brahmotsavams in the shrine here on Wednesday, special prayers were offered to the deities. Special pooja to Sri Chandiswara Swamy in Yodashala and ‘japas’ for ‘Lok Kalyanam’, ‘Mandaparadhana’, ‘Panchavaranarchana’, ‘Nityavahanalu’, ‘Rubdahomam’, ‘Chandi Homam’, as per the Agama Sastra, followed.

Srisailam: On the second day of Mahasivaratri Brahmotsavams in the shrine here on Wednesday, special prayers were offered to the deities. Special pooja to Sri Chandiswara Swamy in Yodashala and ‘japas’ for ‘Lok Kalyanam’, ‘Mandaparadhana’, ‘Panchavaranarchana’, ‘Nityavahanalu’, ‘Rubdahomam’, ‘Chandi Homam’, as per the Agama Sastra, followed.

In the evening, rituals like ‘Pradosha Kalapooja’ and ‘Homam’, ‘Japanushtanalu’ were conducted. During the ‘Vahanaseva,’ and ‘Brungi Vahanaseva,’ deities were decorated and placed in Akkamaha Devi Alanakara Mandapam, followed by special poojas. ‘Gramotsvam’ was organised in the main streets of the town.

During the cultural programmes, K Purnima of Domalapenta in Bramhagiri presented a Kuchipudi dance. It was followed by traditional dance by T Pavitra of Srikalahasti and ‘Bhakti Sangeetam’ by Munugala Venkata Narasimha Rao. T Balayogi of Chimakurti (Prakasam district) presented ‘Bakti Ranjani’ programme, followed by Panyam Dakshinamurthy, Vijayawada (violin solo), Sarada Ramakrishna, Vijayawada (tradition dance).

K Prasada Rao of Srisailam Project presented a mythological play ‘Pancha Mankala’. The State Cultural Affairs department presented ‘Surabhi’ play. Dakshinamurthy and Kapuvarapu Subba Rao of Pedda Amiram, (West Godavari) provided side artistes.
