Electric crematorium inaugurated at Bhramarambapuram
Vijayawada Municipal Corporation Mayor Koneru Sridhar inaugurated the renovated electrical crematorium at Bhramarambapuram at Krishna Lanka here on Saturday.
Vijayawada: Vijayawada Municipal Corporation Mayor Koneru Sridhar inaugurated the renovated electrical crematorium at Bhramarambapuram at Krishna Lanka here on Saturday.
The Mayor said the electrical crematorium which was not been in use for some time was dismantled and new one was installed at an estimated cost of Rs 88 lakh. A new chimney, generator, electrical panel board and others were fixed.
He said that the poor can use the crematorium free of coast. At present, people are using gas and wood for cremation and now they could use this new electrical crematorium facility, he said.
New toilets were also built inside the premises. Vijayawada Municipal Corporation Commissioner J Nivas said that the people of Vijayawada can use the new electrical crematorium. He said that out of various services provided by the corporation to the people of Vijayawada this one is a very good service.
He said that it would take 45 minutes to burn a body completely. Air- conditioned boxes were provided for keeping the bodies and free transport facility was provided from the house to the crematorium, he added.
Deputy Mayor G Venkata Ramana, corporators C Suresh, G Narasimha Rao and others were present.
