Bhimavaram: CPM General Secretary Sitaram Yechury said that the CPM will take steps to form an alternative alliance at the Centre with Left and democratic forces to throw the communal BJP out of power.

Party General Secretary Sitaram Yechury says the Left parties will forge an alliance with democratic forces to throw the ‘communal’ BJP out
of power

He hoped that the CPM will regain its past glory soon. Yechury addressed a public meeting here on Saturday after speaking at the inaugural session of the party’s State conference.
CPM politburo member B V Raghavulu demanded that the Centre should establish a Prices stabilization fund to save the farmers in the country.

He criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley for denying special status to Andhra Pradesh. Party’s West Godavari delta committee Secretary B Balaram presided over the public meeting.

Earlier, speaking at the party meeting, Yechury alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi raised slogan. “JIO-Hind” instead of “Jai Hind” and became a brand ambassador of Reliance industries.

He alleged that Modi’s policies were pro-corporate and he was promoting communalism. Yechury delivered speech as the chief guest at the 25th State conference of CPM here on Saturday.

About 650 party representatives from 13 districts participated in the meeting.
The CPM leader criticised Prime Minister for making India a junior partner to the United States by following the imperialism of America.

He stated that the GST introduced by the Modi government only benefits the corporate sector and criticised that the Prime Minister’s move on demonetisation was only to favour four to five online marketing companies that are influencing the global economy.

This decision of demonetisation has led to the downfall of small scale industries, he pointed out. Yechury opined that introduction of FRDA Act has exposed Modi’s stand to entrust public money to corporate forces in the country and this step should be opposed by taking up the people’s movement.

He lambasted the BJP-led NDA government for not making an official announcement on the Rafale Arms deal.

He alleged that Defence Minister Nirmala Sitaraman was shielding the truth by not giving out the details of the deal in Parliament. He wondered if there was no scam in the deal then why the NDA government was not revealing the facts.

Yechury also came down heavily on the Centre for stating that there was no money for providing loan waiver facility to farmers. He pointed out that farmers in the States of Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan were facing severe hardships due to lack of loan waiver facility. As they were facing financial problems they were resorting to extreme steps, Yechury lamented.

He alleged that the NDA government waived loans to the tune of Rs 2 lakh crore for the corporate sector.

Yechury also alleged that the BJP joined hands with destructive forces in a bid to defeat CPM-led Left front government in Tripura in the ensuing Assembly elections. He feared that BJP president Amit Shah would distribute money and create rift among tribes and non-tribes during his stay in Tripura next week. The CPM General Secretary however expressed confidence that the Left front government will retain power for the eighth time in Tripura.

Yechury said Supreme Court Judges came out in the open and expressed their view to the media due to excessive influence of the Centre on Constitutional bodies.
He expressed anguish that the BJP violated the democratic norms and formed governments in Goa and Manipur.

CPM politburo member B V Raghavulu, State secretary P Madhu, CPM Telangana State secretary Tammineni Sitharam, CPI State secretary K Ramakrishna, CPI(ML) Liberation leader Bangarraju and others addressed the meeting.
