Addressing at Sri Krishna Devaraya-2018 Telugu Language Day celebrations at Andhra Mahavishnu temple at Srikakulam in Krishna district on Saturday, he said the countries like Japan and South Korea developed by making all innovations through their mother tongue. The judges also follow their mother tongue in their work in several countries, he stated and added the people could achieve everything by following their local languages.

“There are thousands of dialects in the country. The country has been functioning as a model to several other countries due to its unity in diversity. ButEnglish language made a strong impact on Telugu language. It is an illusion that one could reach the highest position by following English language. The mother tongue Telugu has great history," he explained.

Sharing his personal experience, he recalled that he got good recognition for hisarticle which was written in Telugu language. He asserted that everyone should respect mother and mother tongue.

Deputy Speaker Mandali Buddha Prasad has said the Telugu language got great recognition due to the efforts of Sri Krishna Devarayalu. He also said, “Andhra Mahavishnu is the only god for Telugu language though there are several accents in vogue.”

District Collector B Lakshmikantham, film lyricist SirivennelaSitarama Sastry, GarlapatiUmamaheshwara Rao, Dr PTGV Rangacharyulu, Dr GV Purnachand, several officials and local people were present.
