Vijayawada: Patamata police has arrested 10 persons involved in land grabbing case by creating fake documents to usurp 1,484 square yards land worth Rs 6 crore at Ramchandra Nagar at Patamata, said Deputy Commissioner of Police Gajarao Bhupal. Talking to media here on Monday, the dcp said Dr Yepuri Madhusudan Rao and Nadella Madhava Rao had purchased 1,484 square yards of land in 1992.

The land was leased to Aruna Motors (Renault Motors) in 2012 and a watchman along with his family had been staying there. After the lease time was over in 2017 Aruna Motors vacated it and handed over to owners.

The watchman family asked the owners for some time to vacate land. In the meantime, Mandada Aadi Reddy came into picture saying Pothu Raju was actual owner of land and induced Vijaya Lakshmi (watchman’s mother) with money and a civil suit was filed in the court on the pretext that Potha Raju had given land on lease to Vijaya Lakshmi and now she was not vacating the land.

Later both Potha Raju and Vijaya Lakshmi got compromised in Lok Adalat and obtained a decree of compromise. With the decree they had applied for loan in a bank, applied for property tax in corporation. By showing all the forged documents, Pothu Raju tried to sell land to Kaja Madhusudan Rao and two of his friends for Rs 1.10 crore, in the process Rs 10 lakh was exchanged between Potha Raju and Kaja Madhusudan Rao at the time of agreement.

Friends of Kaja Madhusudan Rao suspected the credibility of Potha Raju and backed out. However, Madhusudan Rao continued to spend money for court expenses and others with the help of Bujji, Ravi, Abdullah, watchman and his mother and created forged documents to grab land.

Later Vijaya Lakshmi filed a police case against the actual owner Dr Yepuri Madhusudan Rao, the DCP said and warned that stern action would be taken against the accused.

Ten persons were arrested and a case was filed under section 420, 468, 471. Aadi Reddy who was the main kingpin was still
at large.
