Tirupati: Minister for Animal Husbandry and Cooperation Ch Adinarayana Reddy accused the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre of pushing the state into financial crisis by not honouring the promises made in the AP Reorgansiation Act.

Addressing media here on Monday, Adinarayana Reddy said that the Centre was responsible for the financial mess the state was in and demanded that it should tell the people how much funds were being allocated to AP.

“We have been asking the Centre for the last four years to fulfil 19 post-bifurcation assurances which were given it. The NDA government led by Narendra Modi has neglected the state development for the past four years. This is the right time to pressurise the Central government to release funds to fill revenue deficit of the state and financial aid for the construction of capital Amaravati,” he said.

Stating that the Centre had not considered the state’s demand a special case, the minister said people will teach a lesson to the BJP in 2019 elections if it does not honour its assurances to the state after the bifurcation.

“The BJP government has cheated the people of the state with assurances of metro rail in Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam. Not a single penny has been allocated to these projects so far. If the Modi government is not ready to assist AP, TDP is ready to snap its ties with BJP as our priority is only to protect the interests of the state,” said Adinarayana Reddy.

The minister said that the state government had introduced 64 mobile veterinary clinics for cattle and sheep in rural areas for the convenience of farmers and the number would be to 175 so that each Assembly constituency would get one mobile clinic.

He said the state government had already sent proposal to the Central government for setting up of the six fishing harbours in the state at a cost of Rs 1500 crores. The minister said the government was planning to issue the all-in-one Kisan Cards for loan sanction and other purposes.
