Kurnool: District Collector S Satyanarayana has said that a master plan for of Kurnool city has been prepared up to 2031 considering rapid development of the city. On Thursday, he held a meeting with the officials of various wings at the municipal office on the implementation of the master plan within the limits of Kurnool Corporation.

Satyanarayana, on the occasion, has said that Kurnool is developing at a rapid speed. As per the census of 2011, the city’s population is 4.33 lakh and is likely to touch 11 lakhs by 2031. In view of increasing population, the officials have to prepare a master plan accordingly. The developments would be categorised into zones such as residential, commercial, mixed usage, industrial, public and semi public, hillocks and rock, heritage, environmental/recreation and future developmenta zones.

In view of the master plan, the residents of Kurnool city have to transact selling or purchasing of lands or house properties, the Collector said. Yet in another meeting, the Collector has directed the officials concerned to expedite the developmental works with mutual coordination. He instructed the officials to extend financial help to the beneficiaries which were sanctioned under SC, ST, BC, Minority, and Christian Corporations. He further directed the officials to initiate necessary steps to overcome the drinking water crisis in summer.

Satyanarayana directed the TITCO officials to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the construction of houses to the poor. He also ordered the General Hospital superintendent to send him a proposal on the facilities to be extended to the patients at the hospital.

Joint Collector V Prasanna Venkatesh, Chief Planning Officer Anand Naik, Municipal Commissioner CB Harinath Reddy, DRDA Project Director Rama Krishna MEPMA Project Director Ramanjaneyulu, TITCO Executive Engineer Rajasekhar, Municipal Executive Engineer Jayarami Reddy, District Fire Officer Bhupathi Reddy and others participated in the meeting.
