Parvathipuram (Vizianagaram): Police cracked a cheating case and arrested a gang for looting a trader promising him a magical vessel. Addressing the media here on Thursday, Parvathipuram ASP Deepika Patil said that one K Tej Mohan, a software engineer in Hyderabad and a native of Parvathipuram, befriended P Seshagiri, a trader in Hyderabad.

In the meantime, Tej Mohan told the trader that some of his friends have a magical vessel which would cost some crores of rupees. Later, Tej Mohan introduced Seshagiri to S Kowsalya of Ramabhadrapuram mandal of the district and made him to believe that Kowsalya and some others have the magic vessel.

Later, the gang took Rs.1.13 crore in two phases. Recently, the gang has invited Seshagiri to Salur and shown a vessel which was covered with a cloth and stated that it would be handed over to him in Vizianagaram and all of them moved to Vizianagaram. But in the middle, the gang has misguided him and gave the slip to him.

Finally, Seshagiri came to know that he was cheated and lodged a complaint with police. In turn, they launched a man-hunt and arrested K Chytinaidu, P Tirupathi, R Givinda and Shyamdas, along with Tej Mohan and Kowsalya, while they were proceeding towards Odisha and recovered Rs 1 lakh from them.
