Vijayawada: Former minister Vadde Sobhanadreeswara Rao asked the State government to release white paper on allocations made by the Centre to the State. Speaking to mediapersons here on Friday, he said the State government should release details of allocations instead of blaming the Centre. The State government failed to exert pressure on Centre over totally implementation of AP Reorganisation Act, he said.

Citicising Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for his silence during the last three-and-half years, he alleged that the powers-that-be had been striving to divert negativity against the government. Several important issues in the Act were not implemented in spite of the assurances while the State government did not react on the callousness of the Centre, he lamented.

The former minister also expressed concern over the inaction of State government towards getting justice from the Centre. He wondered how the State would get justice now when the three-year deadline was over to pursue violations in the implementation of assurances under the supervision of the President of India as per the special clause in the AP Reorganisation Act.

He said that the government should have focused more on the implementation of AP Reorganisation Act. But the Chief Minister was interested more in foreign tours, spending money for various events instead of putting pressure on the Centre over Special Category Status, he said.

Corruption has become rampant in the state, he said and added that the government priorities were different. The government could not construct capital city and it had spent huge money on temporary buildings.
