The general body meeting of the Zilla Parishad (ZP) has unanimously passed two resolutions  demanding the central government to establish a steel plant in Kadapa district and state government to set up the High Court in Rayalaseema region.

Kadapa: The general body meeting of the Zilla Parishad (ZP) has unanimously passed two resolutions demanding the central government to establish a steel plant in Kadapa district and state government to set up the High Court in Rayalaseema region.

The ZP meeting held here on Thursday headed by ZP Chairman Guduru Ravi. The meeting also urged all political parties to extend their support on both issues in the interest of the Rayalaseema people. Speaking the occasion Proddatur YSRCP MLA Rachamallu Sivaprasad Reddy has slammed the state government for its failure in implementing the Housing for all in the district.

The MLA asked officials concerned how many houses were sanctioned to beneficiaries in Kadapa district under the Housing for all and how many were completed. Replying to MLA’s question, Housing Project Director Rajasekhar said that 5,000 houses were sanctioned as against 32,000 applications received in the district.

District Collector T Baburao Naidu has stated that about 400 acres of private land is required for allocation of houses under urban housing. MP Avinash Reddy, Rajya Sabha member CM Ramesh, MLCs K Narasimha Reddy, MLAs M Ravindranath Reddy, Raghu Rama Reddy, and Srikanth Reddy and others were present.
