Five smugglers held; 16 red sanders logs seized

Reserve Sub-Inspector Vasu led the task force police team which conducted combing operation in the forest area. At the time, somesmugglers belonging to Tiruvannamalai from TamilNadu pelted stones on the cops. Police opened one round fire into the air. Many of the smugglers escaped from the place into deep forest.
However, task force police caught five smugglers and seized 16 red-sander logs from them. Later smugglers were produced before the court for judicial remand. Task force DSP Harinath Babu and wildlife division DFO PhaniKumar Naidu reached the spot and appreciated the task force personnel efforts in arresting the smugglers.
