Rajamahendravaram: MP Maganti Murali Mohan has said that the traffic on 61-km stretch of Gundugolanu-Kovvur (GGK) road will be regulated by converting it as four-lane road by National Highways Authorityof India (NHAI). The government had sanctioned Rs 1,500 crore for the construction of road and it will be completed in 30 months'time.

Speaking to reporters at Roads and Buildings guest house here on Saturday, he said earlier, the road was laid to bear load of 30 MT capacity of vehicles. But, many multi-axle vehicles are passing through Gamman India bridge road as it reduces 50-km distance when compared to NH, the MP said.

Because of this traffic was increased on the road and many accidents are taking place, he added. To prevent damage of existing road, which is going to be converted into four-lane, it was decided to allow multi-axel vehicles on road continuously, he said.
