Rajamahendravaram: Minister for science and technology and forest and environment Sidda Raghava Rao on Sunday said the government would build a Science City with an estimated cost of Rs 500 crore in Tirupati.

Laying foundation stone for Sub-Regional Science Centre at Bommuru here on Sunday, the minister said that a Detailed Project Report relating Science City in Tirupati was also sent to government.

He said a science museum along with 3D theatre with Rs 25 crore was also proposed in Visakhapatnam and announced another science museum would be set up in Ongole also.

The Science Centre in Rajamahendravaram would be completed in five months with an estimated cost of Rs 16.80 crore of which Rs 1.60 crore was allotted for science hub, he added.

Stating that Science Museums would benefit a lot to students, he said without science there was no development in the world. Reiterating that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was encouraging science and technology in the state and even President of India Ramnath Kovind lauded the efforts of Chief Minister in using technology in administration to increase transparency, he said.

MP Maganti Murali Mohan said the science centre would have library, astronomy gallery, human machinery gallery, bio-technology gallery, 3D theatre, planetarium and a conference hall. MLCs Adireddy Appa Rao, Reddy Subramanyam, Collector Karthikeya Mishra others were present.
