Beda Jangams seek SC tag
The Beda (Budga) Jangam people started relay hunger strike at Collectorate here on Tuesday in support of Beda (Budga) Jangam Hakkula Porata Samiti president Elamarti Madhu’s fast-unto-death at Guntur collectorate.
Eluru: The Beda (Budga) Jangam people started relay hunger strike at Collectorate here on Tuesday in support of Beda (Budga) Jangam Hakkula Porata Samiti president Elamarti Madhu’s fast-unto-death at Guntur collectorate.
They are protesting against the attitude of the government towards them in the issuance of caste certificate and benefits. They alleged that the government has delayed the inclusion of Beda Jangam in SC list in the name of commission report.
They demanded the government to abolish GO144 and continue the earlier GO 84 for their benefit. They demanded to issue caste certificates to students pursuing various courses.
They demanded the government not to delay inclusion of their community in SC list. They also demanded to announce a special package for the caste or otherwise the agitation will be intensified.
Samiti general secretary Prasadm Yeduikondalu and others led the agitation and submitted a memorandum to the district collector.
