TDP unlikely to invite YSRCP to all-party meet

Amaravati: The proposal of the state government to convene a meeting with “all associations” to discuss issues relating to state bifurcation and AP Reoroganisation Act is attracting attention of all political parties.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu reportedly asked finance minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu to work out on the formalities regarding the meeting and prepare a list of associations for which invitations should be sent.
TDP senior leader Varla Ramaiah, who participated in party coordination committee meeting on Tuesday, told reporters that they had to discuss whether invitation should be sent to YSR Congress Party or not. He said the meeting was not an “all-party meeting” but meeting with “all associations”.
Speaking to The Hans India, YSR Congress Party MLA Pedireddy Ramachandra Reddy said the TDP was considering conducting meeting with all parties only because of pressure being built up by YSRCP on Special Category (SCS) issue.
“Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu accepted special package and said there was no need of SCS to AP. But he is now taking about the SCS as the MPs of YSRCP are ready to resign demanding SCS to the state,” he said.
He said that the YSRC has already announced its action plan and the MPs would resign on April 6 to intensify the fight for SCS to AP. He also alleged that Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan reads the script written by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
“How can we believe this people and move no-confidence motion in the Parliament,” he asked. CPI state secretary K Ramakrishna suggested to the Chief Minister that the state government invite all political parties as well as mass organisations who have been fighting for SCS. “The Chief Minister is changing often his stand keeping his relation with BJP in mind and creating confusion among the people.
We have been demanding the state government for four years to arrange all-party meeting which ignored by the Chief Minister,” he said. CPM senior leader Y Venkateswara Rao said they could not come to a conclusion based on leaks from the government.
“We have no communication from the government on all-party meeting. The government should discuss with all parties if it is sincere to fight the Union government to protect interests of the state,” he said.
APCC president N Raghuveera Reddy said the Chief Mister was considering the option of conducting all-party meeting only to mislead people as the Congress had given notice under Rule 184 to discuss issues of Andhra Pradesh.
“TDP has no sincerity in fighting against the Union government. The Chief Minister is only interested in special package but not Special Category Status,” he said.
