Work for the interests of state, Minister tells BJP
Minister for Higher Education Ganta Srinivasa Rao has advised the leaders of Bharatiya Janata Party to work for the interests of the state instead of tarnishing the image of the state government. As an alliance party, it is the duty of BJP to sail with TDP.

Speaking to reporters at a hotel here on Tuesday, the minister has said that Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu is striving for the development of the state whereas YSR Congress Party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy is trying to get political mileage with his padayatra.Jaganmohan Reddy brought no-confidence motion issue into limelight, as he is not getting response for his Praja Sankalpa Yatra.
Still there is time for no-confidence motion and the party will take a decision in this regard and it is not final, he said. BJP leaders are saying that they have fulfilled everything which is not true. As per AP Re-organisation Act-2014, as many as seven institutions were sanctioned to the state. Of them, five institutions such as NIT, IIM, IIT IIIT etc are running in temporary buildings and sofar, the Central government did not give its consent for Central and Tribal universities, he said.
The Central government had not given even Rs 700 crore, as against the estimated cost of Rs 9,136 crore pertaining to seven educational institutions. But, the state government had given as much as 2,400 acres to all the institutions along with basic facilities. In how many days, the Central government releases the funds, he questioned? BJP government not even allotted single paisa to the state in its final budget, the minister clarified.
The government decided to fill 1,385 vacant posts relating to 14 universities in the state. The universities are empowered to recruit professor posts (100) and associate professor posts (175) through its committees and the task of recruitment of 1,100 assistant professor posts was given to Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC).
The government brought private university bill to bring national educational institutions into the state. The government brought out a calendar to conduct various common entrance tests in the state. A three-member committee was also constituted to regularise the services of contract workers in the universities, Ganta added.
