The state government is using web cameras for supervising capital construction and related ongoing works in Amaravati. Now, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, municipal minister P Narayana and the officials of Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) are inspecting the construction works from their chambers through web cameras.

Presently, the construction of residential complex for the officials of All India Services and for MLAs and MLCs and CRDA office building are in progress. The government has set the deadline of four to 15 months for completion of works of different complexes.

The state government wants to showcase some development to the public before the forthcoming elections. It has plans to complete ongoing works in the next one year and has decided to follow up progress of works.

The government has fixed high frequency cameras for inspecting the works from construction locations. With the new technology, the Chief Minister can give suggestions from his office to workers at project location, said an official.

Stating that the government is keen about security in all the works, the officials recalled that some unidentified persons damaged banana and sugarcane plantations in the capital villages to provoke a section of people against the state government. Staff quarters works are being executed by Nagarjuna Constructions Company (NCC).

Company’s safety in-charge Chaitanya, speaking to The Hans India, said that the CCTV cameras were useful in monitoring the security and also ongoing works. Presently, 24 CCTV cameras were fixed at their two sites and some more would be added soon to cover entire work locations.

The cameras are being fixed based on importance of the work, he said and added that the company used the cameras at important project locations a few locations in the past, he said.
