Vijayawada: Minister for Panchayat Raj and IT Nara Lokesh asked the people to vote for Telugu Desam party as gift to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for his hard work and relentless fight for the state development.

Addressing a public meeting at Bapulapadu in Krishna district on Thursday, he said the Chief Minister was working like a 24-year-old at the age of 67 for protecting the interests of the state for future generations.

He said the government has plans to introduce card system for effective implementation of garbage collection from door-to-door in the villages. “The government will introduce underground drainage system in 157 villages in the state. The state will be declared total open defecation-free state by 2018 and an action plan is also ready to solve drinking water problem.

The government has plans to provide drinking water in all the villages at a cost of Rs 22,000 crore by creating water grid and about Rs 860 crore is allotted to implement the scheme in Krishna district. The Panchayat Raj department finalised plans to develop all villages with ten star-rated rank," he said.

Lokesh also said the government was taking steps to provide basic amenities in all the villages by 2019. Stating that 19 lakh houses would be constructed, he added the government would deposit Rs 2,000 for DWACRA women on the occasion of Women's Day as part of loan waiver promise.

Recalling the people of Gannavaram constituency had been strong supporters of Telugu Desam, Lokesh said international flights operation would become a reality soon and added HCL company would provide employment to large number of unemployed.

MP Konakalla Narayana, MLA V Vamsimohan, former MLA Dasari Balavardhana Rao, former ZPTC chairman Kadiyala Raghava Rao and members of Krishna District Rythu Sangham were present.
