Rajahmahendravaram: The Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) is abundantly committed to comply with all the rules and regulations of Directorate General of Mines and Safety (DGMS), said V P Mahawar, Director (Onshore), while inaugurating the two-day workshop on Oil Mines Regulations 2017 (Revised) held, here at Golf View Building in the Base Complex on Monday. Lives of the employees and people in the operational areas are the top priority over the profits of company, he reiterated.

The safety of workmen is the top most priority for ONGC, he added. G Vijay Kumar, Director-Directorate General of Mines Safety, South Central Zone, lauded the efforts of ONGC Rajahmundry for taking a proactive initiative of conducting the workshop. The new revised regulations are aimed to achieve zero accident rate in the operations of the oil mines.

The two-day workshop on Oil Mines Regulations 2017 covers comprehensively discuss the various facets of the rules, regulations and procedures, duties of the managements, contractors, manufacturers and workmen, protection against gas and fire accidents, drilling, machinery standards.

Participants of workshop include employees of ONGC from Karaikal, Kakinada, Rajahmundry, representatives of Petroleum Employees Union belonging to Rajahmundry, Kakinada, Chennai and Karaikal. The faculty for workshop are from DGMS, senior management of Health Safety Environment of ONGC Delhi Office.
