Visakhapatnam: Vice-Chancellor of Andhra University Prof G Nageswara Rao said that nation’s growth depends on the best use of human resources in all fields.

The Vice-Chancellor inaugurated a two-day seminar on ‘Human Resource Management and Inclusive Growth in 21st Century: Concerns and Challenges’ being organised by the Department of Commerce and Management Studies (DCMS) and Centre for Study of Social Exclusion and Inclusive Policy (CSSEIP), Andhra University, here on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, he emphasised the need to inculcate moral values among the employees and managers; employers should encourage and motivate them to develop their skills and talent. Delivering the keynote address, Professor from IIM Bengaluru K Ravi Kumar said that inclusive growth is possible only when humans reach their potential.

He cited that companies can achieve desired goals by developing an organisational climate that encourage and facilitate employees to work towards such goals. He also wanted young entrepreneurs to develop ideas that can transform their lives and make inclusive growth, a reality.

While presiding over the inaugural session, the Principal College of Arts and Commerce, Andhra University, Prof.K Rama Mohana Rao, underlined the need for capacity building of youth for realising the human potential. He applauded the role played by the governments at the Centre and the States through National and State Skill Development Corporation.

Chief Executive Officer of Symbiosis Technologies O Naresh Kumar explained how the Indian economy can swing back to capture the world markets in future by imparting knowledge and skills to employees. He noted the importance of values, habits and organisational culture to achieve the goals and felt that there is a shortage of skilled manpower.

School of Distance Education of Andhra University Prof NL Narasimha Rao explained the significance of the seminar in the present day context. Deputy Director of CSSEIP Dr P Subba Rao outlined the themes and papers received for presentation in technical sessions. Prof J Ravi of DCMS also spoke.
