Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has gone down the memory lane in an interview with a Telugu TV channel.

Recalling his student days, he said he took everything easily when he was 16. So, he had even failed in the Inter first year. It was after this that he had shifted to Tirupati and this is where he began savouring success.

He said as a student he used to lead gangs and fight with rival gangs. Many times, the fight used to get physical.

Recalling an incident, he said once his batch ran away in the face of an attack by a rival gang. “Then, I regrouped by friends and attacked them. They even lodged a complaint against me. Later, the case was struck off,” he recalled. He said though he led student gangs, he never indulged in violence. I used to lead several agitations, he added.

If I continued the student gangs in politics, I would then be called a factionist, he quipped.
