Sports Authority of India team visits Vijji Stadium
Dreams of the sports lovers of this region would be realised soon as the state government has provided all amenities in the stadium and proposed the Union government to establish Sports Academy here to encourage the sportspersons.
Vizianagaram: Dreams of the sports lovers of this region would be realised soon as the state government has provided all amenities in the stadium and proposed the Union government to establish Sports Academy here to encourage the sportspersons. Based on that proposal, the officials belonging to the Sports Authority of India visited the Vijji Stadium on Wednesday and inspected the facilities.
Regional assistant director P Basavaraj stated that the facilities here are good, which would help the players to enhance their skills. He stated that kabaddi kho-kho, athletic academies are likely to be established here. The state government has sanctioned Rs 20 crore to the stadium. District sports development officer N Surya Rao and others participated in this programme.
