Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana informed that Vice-President of India M Venkaiah Naidu and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu would inaugurate the first phase housing at Janardhan Reddy Colony and hand over them to the beneficiaries on March 24.

Nellore: Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana informed that Vice-President of India M Venkaiah Naidu and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu would inaugurate the first phase housing at Janardhan Reddy Colony and hand over them to the beneficiaries on March 24.

He also said that they would handover commercial complex to the DWCRA groups shortly. The Minister inspected the construction site at Janardhan Reddy Colony in the city on Wednesday. He also directed the authorities to construct roads, drains and install electric poles in the construction site. He asked the officials to complete the works before March 15.

Narayana has explained that that they would also provide gymnasium and a park for the children in the surrounding areas. He has instructed the authorities to complete construction of school, hospital, market, community hall and others at the place on war-foot basis.

Construction of houses is being taken up in Nellore, Sullurpeta, Atmakur, Kavali, Gudur, Naidupeta and also in other areas. Construction works in Naidupeta are being done very fast, the Minister said.

6.81 lakh houses would be handed over to the beneficiaries before December 2018 in all 110 municipalities, he reiterated. NUDA Chairman K Srinivasulu Reddy, Nellore Municipal Commissioner Alim Basha, RDO D Haritha and others were present.

Further, Minister inspected 3rd and 4th divisions in the city. He performed Bhoomi Puja for NTR Housing Complex at Venugopal Nagar. He also interacted with the beneficiaries. He explained that state government had sanctioned Rs 111 crore under SC/ST sub plan funds for the development of the colonies.

Contract works were handed over to L&T and NCC companies in the district, he added. Nellore GGH development committee chairman Ch Narasimha Rao, Corporators M Madhu, P Sailaja, N Mallikarjuna and others were present.
