PM denying Special Category Status as CM inflating AP development: Peddireddi
YSRCP general secretary and Punganur MLA Peddireddi Ramachandra Reddy said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been denying Special Category Status (SCS) to Andhra Pradesh as Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu are exaggerating the development in the state.
Chittoor: YSRCP general secretary and Punganur MLA Peddireddi Ramachandra Reddy said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been denying Special Category Status (SCS) to Andhra Pradesh as Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu are exaggerating the development in the state.
The YSRCP leaders and workers staged a dharna at the Collectorate here on Thursday, demanding the BJP-led NDA government to accord SCS to AP. Addressing the party activists, Ramachandra Reddy has alleged that Chandrababu is keen on getting special package than SCS as he want to meet the expenditure of the budget by misusing package funds.
He slammed the Chief Minister for colluding with Narendra Modi for supressing the demand of SCS. The MLA made it clear the present TDP regime will not get special status to the state and it is possible with YS Jaganmohan Reddy, once he becomes the Chief Minister. He ruled out the possibility of YSRCP forging an alliance with the BJP in the next elections.
The MLA mentioned the BJP also played an equal role along with the BJP for bifurcating united AP. He asked why the central government was denying SCS to AP when 11 states in the country are enjoying the same. Former TTD Chairman and senior YSRCP leader B Karunakar Reddy has said that the state would witness tremendous development once SCS is awarded to AP.
Chandrababu was forced to extend support for the SCS as the YSRCP chief has intensified the agitation for special status at various levels. Karunakar Reddy slammed the TD government for registering false cases against the YSRCP agitators for demanding SCS to truncated state. Chandragiri MLA Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy has explained the advantages of SCS.
