YSRCP seeks people’s support for securing Special Category Status
YSRCP leaders made an appeal to the people to join hands with the party for achieving the Special Category Status (SCS) where the ruling party had failed to demand the union government for the tag due to its political association.
Nellore: YSRCP leaders made an appeal to the people to join hands with the party for achieving the Special Category Status (SCS) where the ruling party had failed to demand the union government for the tag due to its political association.
The YSRCP leaders organised a protest at the Collectorate here on Thursday, demanding the SCS as part of their stir. Nellore MP M Rajamohan Reddy said the ruling party excelled in telling lies to the people and Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is the capable leader to manage issues by diverting the attention of the people.
He also criticised that the TDP at the national-level initially contacted their party before 2014 and the party chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy simply said they would consider after elections keeping larger interests of the state in view. But, the Chief Minister, who observed charisma of the Prime Minister, immediately made arrangements for tie up which finally reaped no benefit to the state.
Party district convener and Sarvepalli legislator K Govardhan Reddy said the Chief Minister is having no courage to fight with the NDA government for the legitimate right. He said still they are planning for the protests even though the Centre categorically denied any benefits to the state through its budget allocations.
He dared the MPs of the ruling party to join hands with YSRCP for achieving the SCS. He suggested the ruling party leaders to consider YSR rule as a bench mark for attaining development of poor and the needy.
Party senior leader N Prasanna Kumar Reddy said the Chief Minister has been ailing with a typical disease where he has been uttering that he had brought NTR into active politics and offered ticket even to the late Chief Minister Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy.
He appealed to the Governor to save the state from the TD rule. He said the people are carefully observing, who have been fighting for the SCS since the beginning. Party cadre from various parts of the district reached the Collectorate and extended their support to the protest.
