Patamata police conducted cordon and search operation on the Ryves Canal bund near Ramavarappadu railway station on Friday as part of the search operations continuing in the city to keep a vigil on the anti-social elements and identify the culprits and suspects.
Vijayawada: Patamata police conducted cordon and search operation on the Ryves Canal bund near Ramavarappadu railway station on Friday as part of the search operations continuing in the city to keep a vigil on the anti-social elements and identify the culprits and suspects.
Under the supervision of DCP Gajarao Bhupal and ACP Satyanandam, special teams searched 426 houses and verified documents of 85 vehicles mostly two-wheelers and auto- rickshaws.
The teams enquired with the locals about the anti-social elements living in the area and picked up 30 persons for questioning. The teams verified the iris of some locals in order to find the accused in old cases.
Speaking on the occasion, DCP Bhupal said the cordon and search operation is very useful to keep a vigil on anti-social elements and check the crime. He appealed to the citizens to give information to the police if they notice people with suspicious movement, anti-social elements creating problems in their localities.
