The city cops arrested 26-year-old woman on Saturday for throwing a one-and-a-half-year-old kid, Sheik Hanif, in a water tank. The accused identified as Sheik Razia Sultana of satellite area in Chennuru mandal.

Addressing the media here on Saturday, city DSP Sheik Masum Basha said that the accused developed a grudge against Haseena, mother of the deceased, for insulting her when her daughter had accidently fell in a local reservoir when they went for a picnic on February 17. Razia Sultana has confessed her crime before VRO P Vinod Babu on Saturday. A case was registered.
