Swami Paripoornanda of Sree Peetham has inaugurated the water treatment plant at Vakulapuram village near Tirupati on Monday which was aimed at providing safe drinking water to all 427 houses named as ‘Vakula Teertham’ in the village where Vakulamatha temple being renovated in a big way.

He also initiated another programme for school going children in the village called ‘Sandhya Gurukulam’ with a concept of evening school in which students will be taught patriotism, yoga, meditation apart from helping them to understand lessons and complete their homeworks. The Pontiff also distributed new clothes to all the households in the village on this occasion.

Speaking to the villagers, Swamiji said that at first, the villagers opposed the decision to construct Vakulamatha temple there but later realised that it will help in securing their livelihood. It may be noted that, Swamiji’s Sree Peetham has adopted the village and providing all basic amenities one after another.

He added that trust run by Sudha Rani will organise health camps in the village at least thrice in a week and they will perform all basic tests. BJP state spokesperson G Bhanu Prakash Reddy, Bhimas Raghu, TDP organising secretary Dr R Sudha Rani and others were present with the Pontiff.

He later met TTD EO AK Singhal in his chambers at Administrative Building and discussed about the progress of the Vakulamatha temple works. He asked the EO to speed up the construction works.
