Elaborate arrangements for SSC examinations

Visakhapatnam: The district administration is making arrangements for Class X final examinations which will begin from March 15 and end on March 29.

In all, 55,493 students are appearing for examinations in the district for which the education department set up 241 centres, including in agency areas. A committee was formed with the members from education, revenue, police, health, transport and APSRTC for smooth conduct of examinations.

The examinations will start at 9.30 am and will continue till 12.15 pm. As the day temperatures are raising, the medical and health department directed to take up necessary arrangements at all the examination centres.

The administration directed the medical and health officials to arrange first aid kits, ORS sachets and deployment of ambulances if necessary at the centres. The education department arranged 114 centres in the urban, 100 centres in rural while 27 centres in the agency areas and at all the centres Section 144 will be imposed during the examinations.

The district administration noticed that at some of the centres, there is no furniture and directed the district educational officer to take up necessary arrangements. For the first time, the district level committee directed the DEO to set up team to check whether facilities have been provided or not at all the examination centres.

The teams will submit a report to the district committee about the arrangements at the centres. Question papers will be sent to the centres with escort. The administration also directed the police personnel to draft a route map to deliver the papers. Special Flying Squads will be deployed for surprise checks at the centres.
