Visakhapatnam: The Central government’s start up friendly environment in the country has proved to be a blessing for female entrepreneurs, said budding women entrepreneurs here on Tuesday at GITAM University.

Starting the panel discussion, Chairperson of GITAM Women Empowerment Cell Prof P Sheela said that the new generation women across the world have overcome all negative notions and have proved themselves beyond doubt in all spheres of life, including the most intricate and cumbersome world of entrepreneurship. Country has its own pool of fearless and talented women entrepreneurs who have made a mark for themselves in the country as well as overseas, she added.

During the discussion, LB Agro Founder and GITAM alumni Geetha Sreekanth, Director of Sagardurga Developers Private Limited K Deepika, Managing Director of Novel Patent Services A Himabindu, Founder of Priya’s Trendz N Priya shared their experiences.

They expressed that networking, strong inclination towards continuous learning, lateral thinking and commitment towards the selected domain are key factors for success.

They also shared that strong family support would be an added advantage to achieve success. The programme was coordinated by Entrepreneurship Department Head Dr K Manjusree Naidu. About 50 students, who are keen in pursuing their career as women entrepreneurs, participated in the panel discussion.
