Andhra Pradesh finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu has admitted that the state of the economy in the truncated AP is in dire straits and said that the state is in for tough times. He said that the State Government would wage a relentless battle for the funds. He said he did not think that the Centre would stop release of funds, but said that if it does, then the federal spirit would be negatively affected.

He said to offset this situation, the State Government might have to improve the tax collection mechanism. He said the Centre has not given adequate amount to address the revenue deficit.

He said one has to wait and watch the impact of withdrawing from the Union Cabinet on the economy of the state.
