Shift drinking water pipelines from drains
District Collector and Guntur Municipal Corporation Special Officer Kona Sasidhar directed the corporation officials to engage 26 special teams from various municipalities for shifting the drinking water pipelines laid through drains.

Addressing a meeting with the corporation officials at the GMC council hall here on Friday, he instructed the officials to shift the municipal tap pipelines passing through drains within two days.
He directed the regional director of municipal administration Srinivas to get additional teams from the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation. He advised the officials to launch super chlorinisation first at Guntur east assembly constituency and conduct publicity about super chlorinisation and desilt the drains immediately.
Executive engineer Venkateswara Rao of Narasaraopet said 35 drainage manholes were filled with silt and there is a need to desilt them immediately. The Collector gave a fiat to the authorities concerned to improve sanitation immediately. GMC Commissioner Challa Anuradha was present at the meeting.
