Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president N Raghuveera Reddy has asked the parties why they were demanding the Centre to implement the AP Reorganisation Act made by the Congress party if it was wrong.

Addressing a programme here on Sunday, he pointed out that if the Congress party had done injustice to the state, then why all political parties were fighting for the benefits under AP Reorganisation Act.

Stating that the Congress party included several benefits to the state under the Act, Raghuveera Reddy said the BJP had violated all the promises made in the implementation of the Act and added that the TDP was making false campaign against the Congress.

Mentioning that the TDP and BJP have also supported the state bifurcation, the APCC chief wondered as to how the parties were blaming only the Congress party for the division of the state.

He reiterated the Congress party would implement all the benefits promised under the AP Reorganisation Act if it comes to power in the next elections.

Welcoming the BC leader G Gangadhar, who joined Congress party in the programme, Raghuveera Reddy said the Congress had only introduced several welfare schemes for the BCs and downtrodden sections.

Former Union minister M Pallam Raju said both TDP and YSRCP surrendered to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and alleged that they were not extending support to ongoing agitation for the implementation of AP Reorganisation Act.

Rajya Sabha member K V P Ramachandra Rao said people of various sections were joining the Congress expecting better governance in the state. AP Mahila Congress president Sunkara Padmashree,

PCC official spokesperson Kolanuko-nda Sivaji, senior leader Meesala Rajeshwara Rao and city Congress president Akula Srinivasa Kumar were present.
