Veteran film actress Kavitha joined BJP here on Sunday. Party state president K Hari Babu welcomed her into the party by presenting a party shawl.
Vijayawada: Veteran film actress Kavitha joined BJP here on Sunday. Party state president K Hari Babu welcomed her into the party by presenting a party shawl.
Later, speaking to media persons on the occasion, Kavitha criticised the TDP for cheating her after utilising her services for many years. Stating that she was attracted towards the BJP due to the welfare schemes being implemented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, she vowed to work for strengthening BJP in state.
She recalled that she worked in TDP without expecting anything since 1983 and added that some leaders in TDP deliberately created a situation where she cannot continue in the party. “My services to TDP have not been recognised. Some TDP leaders cheated me and I never expected the party chief N Chandrababu Naidu too would act like this,” Kavitha said and added that she would work for the betterment of society.
She distributed sweets to the members of BJP on the occasion. BJPstate Mahila Morcha chief S Malathi Rani also welcomed and congratulated her for joining the party.
