Dr BR Ambedkar University vice chancellor Kuna Ramji said notices have been sent to 24 private colleges running in the district in contravention to the rules laid out by the Board of Higher Education and the university. He said the issue was discussed with the dean of the Varsity College Development Council along with dean P Chiranjeevulu.
Srikakulam: Dr BR Ambedkar University vice chancellor Kuna Ramji said notices have been sent to 24 private colleges running in the district in contravention to the rules laid out by the Board of Higher Education and the university. He said the issue was discussed with the dean of the Varsity College Development Council along with dean P Chiranjeevulu.
He said the notices would be issued as per the provisions of the AP Education Act 1982. He further said that a team comprising former ANU register N Ranganath, law professor, ANU L Jayasri, AP Higher Education Department deputy director TV Srikrishna Murthy and APSCHE academic cell faculty BS Saleena and CDD dean P Chiranjeevulu would examine the amenities in the private degree colleges.
He said there were 88 private colleges in the district, many of which were being run in violation of the laid out rules. He said many colleges did not have own accommodation even after five years of their existence.
