Marriages to be allowed on Durga temple premises

Vijayawada: The Trust Board of Durga temple here on Tuesday decided to allow performing marriages on the second, third and fourth floors of Maha Mandapam on the temple premises.

The Board meeting chaired by Yalamanchili Gouranga Babu took several decisions. The site donated by C V Reddy Charity would be utilised for providing services to devotees. The facilities like dining hall and kitchen would also be set up at the site.

Executive Officer Padma said that there was no truth in the allegations related to temple lands encroachment. Buttermilk would be supplied to the devotees in the summer, she said. She further said that auto-rickshaws would not be allowed on the Ghat Road.
