Guntur: Minister for Human Resources Development Ganta Srinivasa Rao said that 6,17,484 students, including 3,11,008 boys and 2,95,359 girls will appear for the SSC Public examinations beginning on Thursday.

The examinations will be held at 2,834 centres across the State. He said that the government has made all necessary arrangements to conduct the examinations.

The Minister inspected the facilities at the Mandadam ZPHS examination centre. He suggested to the students to reach the examination centre half-an-hour in advance. He said that the APSRTC will provide free transport facility to the students appearing for the SSC public examinations on verification of the hall tickets.

He said that he had instructed the officials to provide drinking water, uninterrupted power supply and first aid facility at the examination centres for the convenience of students.

The Minister said that for the convenience of students ‘Locator App' was developed which could be downloaded from Google Playstore. "The App will help find their examination Centre easily. He said that a helpline ‘18005994550’ has been set up which could be used by the students if they have any problems.

He said 156 flying squads have been set up to inspect the examination centres and closed circuit cameras were installed at problematic centres. He urged the students to write examinations without fear and anxiety. He suggested to the students to write the examinations well and get name and fame to the parents and their schools.

The Minister pointed out that in spite of the financial crisis, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu allocated Rs 25,000 crore to the education sector in the recent budget, as he believed that the students can change the society and they are the future of the country.

Earlier, Ganta inspected the quality of mid-day meal supplied to the students and he had lunch with the students in the school. The HRD Minister was accompanied by MLA Kadiri Babu Rao, Director of School Education Sandhya Rani and others.
