Addressing the party activists, CPM state secretariat leader V Krishnaiah said that both state and central governments had played a drama over the SCS. He has pointed out that why Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has been silent on special status for the last four years.

Sensing the people’s mood, the CPM leader said the Chief Minister suddenly changed his stand over the SCS and playing election politics to cash the sentiment. Krishnaiah demanded that the BJP-led NDA government should implement the AP Reorganisation Act which was the assured to state at the time of bifurcation by the UPA government.

When the BJP was in opposition, its party leaders demanded SCS to the AP for more than 15 years, presently why they were saying special status is not possible for the AP, Krishnaiah criticised. Later, the CPM district secretary A Pullaiah, addressing the cadre, came down heavily against the state and central governments.

He alleged that the TD government has kept silent in many issues against the union government due to political alliance with the BJP. He demanded the Modi government to announce Rs 50,000 crore as special package to Rayalaseema on par with Bundelkhand package. CPM district secretary criticised that the central government was not saying correct information regarding the funds allocation to the state development so far.

He slammed the BJP leaders for providing wrong information about the release of central funds to AP. No measures were taken so for in setting up of a steel factory in Kadapa district and railway zone for the state with Visakhapatnam as its headquarters, he slammed. Later, the CPM leaders submitted a memorandum with 15 demands to the revenue officials at Sub-Collector’s office.

In the agitation, CPM leaders Kandarapu Murali, V Nagara, and Subramanyam, DYFI leaders Jayachandra and Nanda Kishore, SFI leaders Giri, Madhav Krishna and women association leaders Sailakshmi and Hyma were present.
