Amaravati: Municipal administration and urban development minister P Narayana has said the Centre must sanction grants to the State government for the construction of administrative city which consist of Assembly, Legislature, Raj Bhavan, High Court and other infrastructure facilities in the new capital as per the State Reorganisation Act.

Replying to a question asked by BJP MLC Somu Veerraju whether any constructions are proposed in the AP Re-organisation Act other than Secretariat, Assembly, Raj Bhavan and the High Court, the minister made this statement in the Legislative Council here on Wednesday.

Stating all information has been furnished to the Centre with full details for sanction of grants to construct the administrative capital with an estimated expenditure of Rs 11,602 crore, Narayana said.

The State government had also sent utility certificate to Union government over Rs 1,500 crore grant sanctioned for construction of capital, the minister said the Niti Ayog had deputed a team to the state to study the details of proposed Amaravati capital.
