On the first day of the Class X examinations, a 15-year-old boy, who was on his way on a motorcycle to write examinations, died on the spot when he hit the cement divider at Tallapalem Junction on the National Highway here on Thursday. 

Visakhapatnam: On the first day of the Class X examinations, a 15-year-old boy, who was on his way on a motorcycle to write examinations, died on the spot when he hit the cement divider at Tallapalem Junction on the National Highway here on Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Killadi Srinivas Rao, resident of G Singaram village. Rao had started on a two-wheeler with his relative P Veer Raju from his home.

Raju was riding the bike while Rao was pillion riding. When the duo reached Tallapalem Junction, Raju lost control over his bike and hit the divider. Srinivasa Rao’s head hit against the divider and died on the spot.

The body was shifted to NTR hospital near Anakapalle for post-mortem. Later, hid body was handed over to his parents. Police took P Veera Raju into custody and registered a case under section IPC 304A and investigation is on.

Meanwhile, locals alleged that after reaching Tallapalem Junction a speeding car hit the bike from rear side and fled. Police checked the CCTV footage but they didn’t notice any car passing from Tallapalem Junction before and after the accident, police said.
