Chittoor: District Superintendent of Police (SP) S V Rajasekhara Babu said on Monday that women are not hesitant to visit the police stations and lodge complaints against offenders because of various measures taken by the Police department. He stated that women’s attitude towards cops has changed drastically over the years.

The SP received phone calls from the public as part of ‘Dial Your SP’ programme at District Police Office (DPO) here. Speaking to The Hans India, Rajasekhara Babu has informed that people from all sections of the society are registering their grievances through ‘Dial Your SP’ programme.

The SP said all the grievances are being computerised and reviewed the status of complaints once in a week at divisional level. To create awareness among the rural women, Rajasekhara Babu said that district cops had launched Hackathon-2018.

More than 30 publicity vehicles were visiting the villages and exhibiting the short films to sensitise women over the steps being taken by the cops to safeguard their interests, he disclosed. The SP felt happy that victimised women are coming forward to register complaints against the offenders. He further said computerisation of all police stations was completed in the district.
