Chandrababu Naidu happy over growing support after breakup
The Chief Minister, at the party coordination committee meeting here on Tuesday, said that YSRC, which has its own axe to grind, came to a tacit understanding with the BJP and was now trying to undermine Telugu Desam.
Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu continued to breathe fire at BJP, Jana Sena and YSRC, accusing them of trying to weaken the Telugu Desam Party but said he was immensely happy that there was a groundswell of support to him from people for coming out of the NDA as they know that the BJP had betrayed the state by not according Special Category Status and ignoring the promises made in the AP State Reorganisation Act.
The Chief Minister, at the party coordination committee meeting here on Tuesday, said that YSRC, which has its own axe to grind, came to a tacit understanding with the BJP and was now trying to undermine Telugu Desam.
Naidu said that the Centre was trying to avoid facing no-confidence motion moved by the TDP in Lok Sabha. The YSRC too has been caught unawares when the TDP moved the notice for no-trust motion, Naidu said and expressed his displeasure over the Speaker for not taking up the motion for the third day on Tuesday contending that the House was not in order which only helped the BJP in avoiding a discussion on the motion.
Naidu pointed out that only after TDP moved the notice for no-confidence motion, the leaders of the Congress and other parties sat bolt upright and took notice of it. Now the Congress was also singing the refrain of Special Category Status for AP, he said.
Naidu expressed angst over the BJP not inviting him for talks on Special Category Status and on the other hand was unleashing a counter-offensive against the TDP. After realising that it was not safe to sail with the BJP anymore, the TDP came out of the NDA, he pointed out.
He said there was a wave of appreciation for his decision to the breakup with the BJP and that it was now the responsibility of the Ministers, MLAs and MLCs to wash the dirty linen of the BJP in the public day and night.
Naidu also took pot-shots at Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan for his lack of comprehension of Special Category Status. "He said he was not very particular about SCS tag as long as there is a liberal flow of funds to the state," Chandrababu Naidu said and wondered if Pawan Kalyan, in the first place, knew how much financial assistance is due to the state.
He said Pawan Kalyan was targeting the TDP leaving the BJP alone which was the culprit for the ills of the state. “Everyone knows who is responsible for this mess. Even a school student knows," he said.
