Farmer dies in bullock cart-lorry collision

A farmer and two oxen were killed when a speeding lorry hit the bullock cart coming from the opposite direction at Pedda Tekur village in Kallur mandal on Tuesday. The deceased was identified to Boya Shankaraiah (47), a resident of Pedda Tekur village.

According to Ulindakonda cops, the deceased was said to be heading towards his village Pedda Tekur from Chinna Tekur along with his bullock cart laden with toddy drum. The same time a speeding lorry from the opposite direction hit the bullock cart.
In the incident, the bullock cart has been scattered to pieces and the oxen and Shankaraiah died on the spot, said the cops. The police registered a case and man hunt was launched to nab the lorry driver.
