Elderly woman found dead
An elderly woman was found dead in an apartment at Ajit Singh Nagar on Saturday morning. It is suspected she was murdered by some known persons to rob the gold oranments.
Vijayawada: An elderly woman was found dead in an apartment at Ajit Singh Nagar on Saturday morning. It is suspected she was murdered by some known persons to rob the gold oranments.
According to Ajit Singh Nagar police, Peram Nagamani, 73, was found dead in her flat No 305 in Fortune Heights which was located on new RR Pet Road.
Her son Narasimha Reddy opened the door at 7.30 am and noticed his mother was lying in a pool of blood in drawing room with head injury. Neck was also has injury marks.
She was staying in the flat alone and her four children are living in other places in Vijayawada and Guntur. Her son informed Ajit Singh Nagar police about the murder.
The police collected CCTV footage recorded in the apartment and verifying for the clues. Dog squad was pressed into service and Clues team collected clues from the flat.
The police suspect some known person or persons could have murdered the elderly woman.
The offender had robbed two gold chains and four gold bangles from the victim. Additional ACP (Crime) Shireen Begum and other officials inspected the flat. Ajit Singh Nagar circle inspector M Jaganmohan registered a case and took up investigation.
