Chittoor district tops in ODF implementation
District Collector P S Pradyumna said on Wednesday Chittoor has secured the first place in India in Open Defecation Free (ODF) implementation.
Chittoor: District Collector P S Pradyumna said on Wednesday Chittoor has secured the first place in India in Open Defecation Free (ODF) implementation. Speaking to The Hans India, the Collector attributed collective efforts and commitment of the district administration and elected representatives for achieving the first place in India.
The district won the first place by constructing 2.39 lakh individual latrines. “Gorakhpur district in Uttar Pradesh has secured second place and third spot to Selamarri district in Bihar,” he added.
The Collector stated that the district playing a vital role in implementing various social welfare programmes. He appreciated the districts officials, people’s representatives and voluntary groups for their efforts in making the city, a ODF. Pradyumna has stressed on giving more importance to the National Rural Employment Guarantee. Additional Joint Collector Chandramouli and other
officials were present.
