Porn addiction damages career of youth: Samaram
Watching porn websites would turn into an addiction, which would damage the young minds seriously affecting their career, said Dr G Samaram.
Vijayawada: Watching porn websites would turn into an addiction, which would damage the young minds seriously affecting their career, said Dr G Samaram.
He was addressing the round-table on ‘Watching porn videos and its side effects’ organised by Vasavya psychological counselling centre at Vasavya Nursing Home here on Wednesday.
Clinical psychologists Vinod Kumar, Suguna and Jhansi and psychologists Lalita Chandri, Pramila Rani, Sumati, K Sankar Rao, Kilaru Srinivas, Jagadish Jagadish and Dr MV Rao participated in the round-table to which Dr TS Rao was the coordinator.
Psychologists opined that watching porn might lead to depression, stress, anxiety and sleep apnea. They appealed to the parents to watch the behavior of their children in order to prevent them from becoming addicts.
The parents should keep the children away from porn sites and spend quality time with them, they added.
The children should be given sex education and moral education to make them understand what is good and what is bad, the psychologists opined.
