Gold coins stolen from electronics showroom
Unidentified persons stole 320 gold coins weighing 80 grams worth Rs 1.75 lakh and Rs 22,000 cash from Sonovision
Vijayawada: Unidentified persons stole 320 gold coins weighing 80 grams worth Rs 1.75 lakh and Rs 22,000 cash from Sonovision Electronics Showroom on Eluru Road on Wednesday late night. The showroom had kept the gold coins to present them as gifts to the customers as part of the lucky draw.
Suryaraopet sub-inspector of police M Satyanarayana said store manager T Naga Narendra Kumar opened the store on Thursday and found that the cash counter was ransacked and the gold coins and cash were missing. The police assume that some insider was responsible for the theft in the showroom.
The accused also stole Rs 3,000 cash at Gupta Enterprises, which is adjacent to Sonovision, by break opening the lock. Clues Team collected fingerprints and dog squad was pressed into service.
