`388 cr sanctioned for Anna Canteens
The State government sanctioned Rs 388 crore revised fund for construction of Anna Canteens across 14 municipal corporations and 57 municipalities.
Amaravati: The State government sanctioned Rs 388 crore revised fund for construction of Anna Canteens across 14 municipal corporations and 57 municipalities.
The Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department informed that 163 pre-cast canteens, 33 master kitchens and 40 canteen cum kitchens will be constructed to provide subsidised food to the poor and marginalised sections in the State. Municipal Administration and Urban Development Principal Secretary R Karikal Valaven issued a GO MS No.121 this effect on Sunday.
Karikal Valaven stated that more than Rs 146 crore was released for pre-canteens, 33 master kitchens and 40 canteen-cum-kitchens, around Rs 31 crore released for procurement of canteen and kitchen equipment, Rs 27.5 crore released for construction of protection walls to canteens and greenery and roughly Rs 183 crore for procurement of catering services.
In fact, this is a revised sanction for the already sanctioned Rs 200 crore through GO MS no 57 on February 5, 2018 to establish 200 Anna Canteens.
