Proposals prepared with Rs 36 crore estimation

Srikakulam: Chain of tanks would be developed in Tekkali and Palasa Assembly segments in the district with an aim to irrigate agriculture lands located in remote and tail end areas. Vamsadhara project officials prepared proposals to improve and link up 15 tanks in the two segments at an estimated cost of Rs 36.13 crore.

Peddatamara, Radhakanthasagaram,Madanagopalasagaram, Badrakshi tank, Gollagandicheruvu, Dalicheruvu, Akkusagaram, Krishnasagaram, Sanapala tank, Pedda tank, Hanumansagaram, Padmadala tank, Jaggappa tank, Oora tank, Seethasagaram would be developed with these funds.

These tanks would be developed as mini-reservoirs to end scarcity of irrigated and drinking water, Vamsadhara River Project Committee Chairman Malla Balakrishna told The Hans India. “We prepared proposals and sent them to the government for its approval,” confirmed superintending engineer of Vamsadhara project TV Seshagiri Rao.
